Russell Hicks is one of the most sought-after comics in the UK. Razor sharp with an incisive edge, and famous for his improv, Russell works regularly as a stand-up, actor, writer and voice over artist. Russell’s 2025 Tour “Happy to Be Here” spans the entire UK over a 7 month run, including a completely sold out Leicester Square Theatre, in London’s West End. Russell will appear in some of the world’s biggest films in 2025, including Edgar Wright’s The Running Man (Paramount / Warner Brothers) alongside Glen Powell and Josh Brolin, and Maintenance Required (MGM / Amazon). On the UK’s biggest networks, he has starred in several episodes of ITV’s ‘Stand Up Sketch Show’ and won the Channel 4 competition series ‘Captive Audience’ with his fully improvised comedy. He starred in the Prime Video series ‘Lovestruck High,’ as the loveable Texan Coach Hughes. Russell headlines every major UK club, including The Stand, Glee Club and Up the Creek, with a monthly residency at Top Secret Comedy Club. He also compères major events like the Leeds and Reading Festivals, as well as historic theatres like the Hammersmith Apollo.
This is alongside his Stateside work with legendary Hollywood clubs The Comedy Store, The Improv and The Laugh Factory. Russell has written for the Sky Comedy channel. His writing has earned him three Leicester Comedy Festival nods in the BEST SHOW and BEST IMPROVISED SHOW categories, and was shortlisted in 2021 for the prestigious Bridport Creative Writing Award. For his undeniable and prolific work in live performance, he was endorsed as a Global Talent by Arts Council England. Russell regularly entertains studio audiences at ‘Have I Got News For You,’ ‘The Last Leg,’ and ‘As Yet Untitled.’ Russell Hicks still can’t believe he gets to make people laugh for a living, travel the world, and most importantly not wake up early on Monday mornings.
