Adele Cliff is a London based stand up from Cambridge. She was the first (and currently the only) woman to be named UK Pun Champion (in 2020) and she is the only person to be named amongst Dave’s Funniest Jokes of the Fringe four years running (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019). An accomplished joke writer, Adele has also featured in best jokes lists in The Telegraph, The Evening Standard, The Scotsman, The Irish Times, Vice, Reader’s Digest, The i Newspaper and The Metro as well as being nominated for Leicestershire’s Favourite Joke in 2019, and contributing to the Leicester Comedy Festival’s All Puns Blazing joke book. She has also written for BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz and BBC Scotland’s Breaking The News and she has appeared on BBC Scotland’s Edinburgh Unlocked.

Adele has been performing solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe for a decade and has become a fan favourite at comedy festivals all over the UK and, more recently, in Australia at the Adelaide Fringe and Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Her charismatic stage presence, clever and relatable material and impeccable comedic timing leave audiences in stitches and have seen her named Pegasus Comedy Comedian of the Year 2023 and nominated for Best New Show at Leicester Comedy Festival.

Outside festivals Adele performs at comedy clubs across the UK and abroad. She has performed for The Comedy Store, The 99 Club, Camden Comedy Club, The Stand, The Frog and Bucket, Komedia, Glee Club and Just The Tonic.
