Aswad

About

Aswad are one of the most successful reggae bands Britain has ever produced. Formed in west London in the mid-1970s, they have spent five decades bringing roots reggae, lovers rock and pop-reggae to audiences around the world. Jokers Entertainment can help you book Aswad for corporate events, festivals and private parties across the UK.

The band built their name on powerful roots records such as “Back To Africa”, “Warrior Charge” and the live favourite “Love Fire”, before crossing over to the mainstream with the irresistible “Don’t Turn Around”, which went all the way to number one in the UK in 1988. Further hits followed with “Give A Little Love”, “Beauty’s Only Skin Deep”, “On And On” and “Shine”, one of the feel-good anthems of the 1990s.

Live, Aswad are a joy: big basslines, warm harmonies and a relaxed, sun-soaked groove that gets every generation dancing. Their set moves easily from roots classics to the chart hits everyone knows, making them a superb choice for festivals, corporate events, summer parties, awards nights, weddings and private celebrations.
