Heatwave

About

Heatwave are one of the great names of the disco and soul era, and the band behind some of the most-loved dancefloor anthems ever recorded. From the moment the opening bars of “Boogie Nights” kick in, a Heatwave show turns any room into a party. Jokers Entertainment can help you book Heatwave for corporate events, festivals and private parties across the UK.

The band was formed in the mid-1970s by American brothers Johnnie and Keith Wilder, who put the group together in Europe and recruited a young English keyboard player and songwriter from Cleethorpes, Rod Temperton. Temperton’s writing gave Heatwave their signature sound, and he went on to write some of the biggest songs of the era for Michael Jackson, including “Rock With You”, “Off The Wall” and “Thriller”.

Their 1977 single “Boogie Nights” became a top-five hit on both sides of the Atlantic, and it was quickly followed by the timeless slow-dance classic “Always and Forever”, “Too Hot To Handle”, “The Groove Line” and “Mind Blowing Decisions”. Later favourites such as “Gangsters of the Groove” and “Jitterbuggin'” kept them on dancefloors into the 1980s.

Today Heatwave tour internationally, playing theatres, festivals and private events with a full live band, rich vocal harmonies and a set packed with the hits audiences know every word to. They are a superb choice for corporate events, gala dinners, awards nights, weddings and private parties.
